When to go

The Rajasthan year

October – March

Best

Clear, warm days of 20–28°C and cool nights; the desert gets cold after dark in December and January. This is the season for festivals and the busiest time at palace hotels, so book early.

April – June

Avoid

Temperatures reach 40–45°C, especially in Jodhpur and Jaisalmer. Fine for a short Udaipur or Mount Abu stay at very good hotel rates, not for a touring holiday.

July – September

Mixed

Monsoon makes Udaipur and the Aravallis green and quiet, with low rates. The desert stays humid, and Ranthambore's core safari zones close until October.

Questions

Rajasthan travel questions

Anything else, ask us on WhatsApp. A person answers, usually within minutes.

How many days do I need for Rajasthan?

Five or six days covers one region well, such as Udaipur with Kumbhalgarh, or Jaipur with Ranthambore. Eight days lets you see the four great cities: Jaipur, Udaipur, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer with a night in the dunes. Ten or more is for palace stays and a slower pace.

What is the best time to visit Rajasthan?

October to March. Days are warm and dry, nights cool, and the Pushkar fair (November) and Desert Festival (February) fall in this window. April to June is too hot for touring. July to September is green around Udaipur but humid in the desert.

What's included in a Breeziah Rajasthan journey?

Your hotels with breakfast, a private air-conditioned car with an experienced driver for the whole trip, airport and station transfers, tolls, parking and driver allowances, and the experiences listed in your itinerary. Monument entry tickets, boat rides and safari permits are usually paid on the spot, and we tell you the cost of each in advance.

Can we stay in palace hotels?

Yes. We can plan around palace hotels such as Taj Lake Palace, Umaid Bhawan Palace and Rambagh Palace, or mix one palace night into a boutique-hotel route. Rates and availability vary a lot by season, so we quote these individually.

Which airport should we fly into?

Jaipur and Udaipur have the most flights and work well as start and end points. Jodhpur also has direct flights from major cities, and Jaisalmer has seasonal flights. Many routes start in Jaipur and end in Udaipur or Jaisalmer, so book an open-jaw ticket.

Is Rajasthan good for families and older travellers?

Very. Distances are long but the roads are good, and we keep drives to daylight hours with comfortable breaks. For older travellers we add rest afternoons, avoid steep fort walks where there's a lift or jeep up, and choose hotels with easy access.

Can you combine Rajasthan with Agra and the Taj Mahal?

Yes. Agra is about 4–5 hours from Jaipur, so the Taj Mahal fits easily at the start or end of a Rajasthan journey, and Delhi is another 3–4 hours on.
