About this experience

Tawang’s own sights fill an easy day: the great monastery on its ridge, the war memorial to the soldiers of 1962, Urgelling Gompa where the Sixth Dalai Lama was born, the Giant Buddha statue, the Ani Gompa nunnery and the craft centre. They are spread across the town and the hills around it, so a vehicle makes the day easy.
