Permits & paperwork
Tsomgo, Nathula and North Sikkim all need permits, and Nathula is closed to foreign nationals.
What needs a permit
Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir — PAP, filed a day ahead in Gangtok.
Nathula — restricted, Indian nationals only, closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
North Sikkim (Lachung, Yumthang) — separate protected area permit.
Documents we need
ID scan and one passport photo per traveller.
Sent to us at least 4 working days before the pass day.
Children need a birth certificate or school ID.
Vehicle rules
Only Sikkim-registered vehicles may run Nathula and North Sikkim.
We hand over from the Bagdogra vehicle in Gangtok — that swap is in the rate.
Road closures are decided by the army each morning; we confirm by 7AM.
