Parking, one-ways, and why the Sohra descent decides the vehicle
Police Bazar is a one-way system with paid parking that fills by 10AM. Drivers will drop you at the top of the market and wait outside it, which is normal here and not the driver avoiding work.
Assam-registered vehicles pay a Meghalaya tourist tax at the Byrnihat check post. On an outstation quote from Guwahati that is already included; on a local Shillong booking it does not apply because the vehicle is Meghalaya-registered.
