LGBI is at Borjhar, about 23 km west of central Guwahati, which is why this is a separate fare from the city sector. The upside is that Borjhar is already on the Shillong side — we never enter the city, and that alone saves 30 to 40 minutes against a hotel pickup.
A flight landing after 7PM makes Shillong around 11PM. We run it and the road is fine, but the night charge applies and hotel check-in desks in Shillong thin out after 10PM — tell us the hotel so the driver can call ahead.
Going the other way, leave Shillong four hours before a domestic departure and five before an international connection. Monsoon mornings on the Nongpoh stretch are the reason for the margin, not the distance.
